Roles and responsibilities as per original job specs Monitor the day-to-dayfinancialoperations within the company, such as AP, banking, invoicing, and other transactions Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and process journals Manage month-end and year-end close process&support with annual audits Producing accurate financial reports and information related to budget vs actuals, account payables, account receivables, departmental expenses etc. Developing strategies that work to minimise financial risk Ensuring the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues Supervising staff Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems Performing other accounting duties and supporting staff as required or assigned Develop, improve and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Have an overview of the activities and budgets for each department to ensure the procedures laid down in the organisation’s financial regulations are adhered to Deliver an excellent service to all the management and customers through financial management of the organisation when required to To be fully conversant with new initiatives, new legislation and modern thinking in all matters relating to the financial management of the organisation Requirements Minimum of 8 years of experience in a senior financial role Relevant tertiary education (Honours Degree, CA (SA) or similar) Hands on experience with accounting software Strong attention to detail&excellent time-management skills A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills Critical thinker and problem-solving skills Strong analytical and modelling skills Ability to operate independently&to work under pressure Team-working, conflict management and influencing/negotiating Ability to set targets, motivate and inspire staff to achieve targets Full understanding of the technical issues and ability to keep up to date with new accounting rules and regulations Experience within the Financial Services/Fintech space will be an advantage. #J-18808-Ljbffr
