Well-established healthcare provider seeks to employ a Technical Manager to take care of maintenance and project activities at their facilities in the Western Cape.For the position you would be required to have: Minimum of a National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringAt least 10 years relevant experience with 5 years in project management.Experience in both the commercial electrical and mechanical engineering fields.Technical experience in the hospital / healthcare environment, facilities management, project management, or maintenance and procurement.Experience in dealing with tradespeople, general contractors, and vendors on behalf of an owner/organisation.Experience in sourcing vendor proposals, reviewing tenders, selecting contractors, ensuring contract adherence, ensuring remedies for deficiencies and evaluating performances.Working knowledge of workplace health, safety, environmental, building regulations and fire compliance.Must be conversant in the principles of maintenance, security, energy and asset management.Good understanding of budget management and cost saving and control.Intermediate computer literacy in MS Office.Responsibilities would include you to: Negotiate and manage the procurement and delivery of technical equipment and services.Ensure delivery against negotiated contracts.Initiate and plan projects in alignment with organisational goals.Take responsibility as project manager on all building, retrofitting, renovation, relocation and closure projects.Maintain comprehensive project documentation.Monitor and manage all practice facilities, clinical infrastructure and assets for optimal performance, safety, security, cost effectiveness and longevity.Provide support for technical systems such as clinical equipment, mechanical services, electrical infrastructure, communication systems and security systems.Respond to emergent situations and provide support in after-hour emergencies.Document systems and processes for effective response in maintenance emergencies.Identify opportunities to enhance maintenance processes, efficiencies and sustainability.Coordinate the maintenance team to ensure efficient use of personnel and other resources.Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards in all areas of responsibility, including provincial health and safety standards, municipal building codes, etc.Implement and enforce practice policies and procedures to mitigate risk and to manage and maintain facilities and assets optimally.Draft and update emergency plans and evacuation procedures.Do financial planning and continuous budget management for the department.Prepare reports and information as needed for stakeholders on different levels.Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors, suppliers and contractors, and partner with key stakeholders to ensure improved efficiency and service delivery.Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry best practices.Please apply online or contact Jan van Dyk on 021 – 531 2015 for more information
