Position: Electrical EngineerReporting to: Chief Electrical Engineering ManagerQualifications/Experience:BSc in Electrical EngineeringPrEng/10 and above years experience in High Voltage Substation with particular emphasis on Secondary Plant Design and Engineering (Protection, Substation Automation, Telecomms, SCADA and Metering)Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE Preferred) with at least 10 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering including design, design review, and commissioning in the electrical engineering fieldAbility to manage work per quality standards and proceduresAbility to work with a multicultural environment of EPCs and off-takersProblem-solving capabilitiesExperience in leading and guiding technical employeesClear criminal/credit record and contactable references are essentialResponsibilities:Author competent technical reports of acceptable technical and presentational qualityOversee the manufacture of devices, systems, and equipmentFamiliarize with general substation system process, electrical design, application for approval by client company, technical disclosure, and control of construction processBasic understanding of electrochemical energy storage power stationFamiliar with the structure and basic electrical principle of energy storage systemsUnderstand the local practice of technical document design and drawing in South Africa and facilitate the local conversion of drawings designed by abroad companyCooperate with the design department and chief engineer to complete technical supervision and acceptance during project implementationCommunicate with customers, including answering technical questions, explaining technical points, and providing expert adviceShare and exchange experience/standard/technical information with other colleaguesCarry out all reasonable and lawful duties assigned by the Line Manager, including duties not normally associated with the Employee's specific positionProvide engineering support and guidance during the construction and commissioning of the plantsEnsure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systemsProvide engineering input for development and maintenance of Electrical system and equipment standards, procedures, best practices, inspection contracts, and contractor selection guidelinesPromote an atmosphere of team spirit through good example, open communication, good listening, and timely problem resolutionsDrive continuous improvement in safety performance, reliability, and cost of quality goalsFoster and support positive working relationships with internal and external customersEnsure Preparation and follow-up on Punch ListsComplete cycle by training and guiding junior engineers#J-18808-Ljbffr
