Overall Purpose of the Position:Held by a highly motivated and experienced professional, the role has a strong focus on diversity initiatives and management strategies within clinical research recruitment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the recruitment of diverse participants for clinical trials conducted across various therapeutic areas, thereby enhancing the representativeness and effectiveness of our research efforts. The role requires a combination of strategic thinking, effective communication skills, and a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in clinical research.Key Performance Areas (KPAs) & Responsibilities include, but not limited to:Develop and Implement Diversity Recruitment Strategies:• Collaborating with research teams to develop comprehensive recruitment strategies to recruit for the various clinical trials undertaken by the company, that prioritise diversity and inclusion.• Utilising various channels, including community outreach, social media, and targeted engagement and advertising, to reach diverse populations.• Implementing innovative approaches to engage underrepresented communities in clinical trials and overcome barriers to participation.• Contributing to the development of policies and procedures that promote diversity and equity.• Staying informed about current issues and best practices related to diversity and inclusion in research and incorporate this knowledge into recruitment strategies.• Fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion within the organisation through active participation in diversity initiatives and training programs.Execute and Manage Recruitment Campaigns:• Planning and executing recruitment campaigns for multiple clinical trials simultaneously, ensuring alignment with project timelines and goals.• Undertaking all activities related to the recruitment of clinical trial participants, in line with TASK policies, and supporting sites with recruitment plans and strategies.• Collaborating with other recruitment individuals and teams where applicable to support recruitment drives across all projects.• Monitoring recruitment progress and adjusting strategies as needed to meet enrolment targets, with a particular focus on diversity metrics.• Tracking and analysing recruitment data to identify trends, evaluate effectiveness, and inform future strategies.Build and Maintain Recruitment Partnerships:• Establishing and nurturing relationships with healthcare providers and other partners, across a range of communities, to facilitate recruitment efforts.• Organising informational sessions, creating awareness of clinical research and opportunities for participation.• Collaborating with community partners to develop culturally sensitive recruitment materials and outreach strategies.Provide Training and Support:• Training research staff and collaborators on best practices for diversity recruitment and retention of participants.• Offering guidance and support to site leadership and recruiters to ensure consistent implementation of recruitment strategies across sites.• Serving as a resource for addressing challenges and resolving issues related to diversity recruitment.Administrative and Reporting:• Managing and maintaining Volunteer Data Base and referrals, being the point of contact for referrals from the website and other sources.• Completing administrative tasks as required for the efficient execution of key performance areas.• Providing status reports and feedback, which may include formal written reports or presentations regarding clinical recruitment efforts, and metrics, when needed.• Obtaining consent and performing telephonic, and other, screening of potential trial participants according to the protocol requirements and in line with SA GCPGeneral:• Assisting other TASK teams with collaborations where indicated.• Traveling and driving to venues and events to meet the requirements of the position.Ideal Requirements•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., public health, psychology, sociology) (Advantageous)•Demonstrated experience in clinical trial recruitment or other relevant experience performing similar responsibilities (Advantageous)•Good understanding of the clinical trial process and regulatory requirements governing human participant research.•Experience in developing and implementing successful recruitment strategies that focus on promoting diversity and inclusion in participant profile (Advantageous)•Experience with working on electronic data capturing platforms will be beneficial.•Valid driver’s license•Computer Literacy – Ability to use Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook at intermediate level•Effective administrative skills•Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in clinical research.Key Personal Inherent Characteristics•Excellent planning and organising skills.•Proficiency in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape, with excellent English skills for written communication and reporting•Professional demeanour, with excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse communities and stakeholders at all levels•Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.•Attention to detail.•Able to take initiative with
