Job Description - Cape TownA large consulting company with offices across South Africa and internationally is looking to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Cape Town offices.This position is responsible for providing professional services on projects within the Division, leading and executing Municipal electrical work (Electrification & Reticulation), Distribution Substations (Primary- and Secondary Plant), and Renewable Energy Projects (Wind and Solar) designs within the group.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor of Engineering degree/higher degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited universityRelevant Professional Registration – Pr Eng / Pr Tech10 Years experience post-graduation in Electrical Distribution ProjectsMinimum 3 years of professional experience in Substation (11kV - 132kV) design and Project ManagementExperience in design management and design delivery for projects and managing professional teams of medium/large Electrical projectsKnowledge in Electrification, Reticulation, Distribution Substations and Renewable Energy would be beneficialKnowledge of Power System Studies would be beneficialYour responsibilities will include:Lead all technical designs and relevant project inputsResponsible for the project management of medium/large projectsResponsible for the management and coordination of multi-disciplinary project teamsTake responsibility for budgets, resourcing and outsourcing of project work within the section, as well as agree project budgets with other sections on large projects comprising multi-disciplinary project teamsAuthor competent technical reports of acceptable technical and presentational qualityPresent / represent their technical workDraft successful responses to bidsClear knowledge of work procedures and ability to brief project team on themAssign work to othersRegular client contact under direction of more senior managerSuccessful in identifying and following through on leads associated with additional work prospects on the projects they are involved withDiscuss in detail with clients the business technologies and marketsTrain others in respective functional field and build a teamMarket technical capabilitySupervise Engineers or Technicians in undertaking checks and inspections of constructed works for compliance with design and specifications, including monitoring and proposing remedial actionsDevelopment and/or bb of function group specific design proceduresPlan and coordinate investigations and surveys#J-18808-Ljbffr
