This position reports to the Head of Retail and Marketplace: Your responsibilities will include: Build&lead a team of Supplier Business Managers to ensure optimum income is derived from Takealot trading terms Establish productive, professional relationships with key suppliers and cross functional divisions focused toward the business strategy Negotiate and recover maximum income from trading terms in line with the business strategy Key understanding of retail landscape and develop programs and opportunities to increase supplier income Key central business resource who provides support and knowledge for the retail divisions and suppliers Lead key supplier (current&future) rebate and trading term negotiations Review all vendor contracts and assess their earning potential against category benchmarks Ensure all trading terms are category aligned and fit within the strategy Build a framework and institutionalize processes and work streams that yield maximum income Strict adherence to all compliance&legislative requirements Manage, train and build a team of highly effective negotiators Deliver income recoveries that meet and exceed the business plan Attributes required: Smart, analytical thinker with strong numerical skills Innovative, creative individual unafraid to take risks, you ask difficult questions and challenge status quo Energetic, dynamic individual - can-do attitude, self-motivated, assertive&resilient Results oriented - Proven track record of execution and delivering exceptional results Proven experience and passion for working across functions and with c-level leaders, synthesizing multiple points of view and owning a coherent action plan, all while negotiating and influencing others Strong decision making skills Experience in building, managing and developing teams Qualifications and Experience: 5+ years’ experience in retail/ wholesale environment 5+ years managerial experience Bachelor’s degree required (Supply chain / Finance or Business degree advantageous) Strong competency in analytical tools The Environment : takealot.com employees are entrepreneurial and dynamic, smart, customer-centric, fun and have the shared ambition of takealot.com being the leading e-commerce company in Africa.
