As a CCTV Cabling Technician Assistant, you’ll be at the forefront of technology, installation and maintenance for cutting edge CCTV systems.If you have a passion for precision, an eye for detail, and a knack for troubleshooting, we want to hear from you.This is a great opportunity for someone who is seeking to gain experience in the CCTV space and that is eager to be part of a well-organised team.Duties will include but are not limited to the following:Assisting with cable installations, including new commercial cat5 / cat6 cablingEnsure that installations are completed to standard as per cabling guidelinesInstallation of routers and switchesInstallation of wireless radiosTesting of surveillance equipment and early detection of future failuresFollow installation guidelines and ensure relevant installation reports are completed.Conduct daily, weekly and monthly cctv equipment inspectionsLabelling & documenting of network equipmentCrimping of cat5 / cat6 cablingConduct daily, weekly and monthly node & node room inspectionsFollow documentation requirements of cabling, routers, switches, cabinets, backup power, fire suppression and airconsEnsure improvisation upon existing installations and infrastructureChecking of cabinets in the MMR / node rooms including cabling, routers, switches, UPS etcEnsure to report and keep record of any faults within the node roomsTroubleshooting and ensuring any issues that are picked up is attended to in a timely mannerMaintain a neat and tidy work spaceReport faults in the MMR / Node Rooms to the line managerQualificationsMatricAny CCTV related certificate would be an advantage Experience and knowledgeProven experience in similar roleKnowledge of programming of CCTV Cameras on siteBasic understanding of HikCentral and the working thereofExperience installing CAT5, CAT6, fibre, Co-AX cables.Crimping of CAT5 and CAT6 cables using industry standardsBest practises for patch managementServer room and node room maintenance and upkeepProficient in fault finding using OTDR, CAT5/6 testers and fibre laser fault finders.Installing and alignment of wireless dishesInstallation and understanding of Headend camera equipmentUnderstanding of IP cameras and its programingKnowledge of general fault finding of all equipment related to CCTV equipment and infrastructure.Skills and attributesTechnical skillsStrong multitasking skillsExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Proactive thinkerAbility to work neatly and systematicallyExcellent time managementProblem solving skills and logical thinkerAbility to work independently when requiredComputer literate (Google Doc, sheets and email)Specific requirementsMust have a valid drivers licence and a reliable vehicleClear health recordClear criminal and credit recordContactable referencesWe offer Barista produced coffee available all day to all our staff at Claremont.Normal working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 until 17h00 with a 45-minute lunch break.With centrally located and modern offices just across from Cavendish in Claremont, Faircape offers a market-related salary from R 10 000 Cost to Company per month.
