This senior leadership position requires a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in fundraising, investor relations, and managing the commercial aspects of the finance function. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving financial planning and analysis, ensuring robust financial controls, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making at the highest levelsYour daily adventures include:Fundraising and Investor Relations:Develop and execute fundraising strategies to secure capital from diverse sources, including equity, debt, and strategic partnerships.Manage relationships with existing investors and stakeholders, providing regular updates on financial performance, growth strategies, and market opportunities.Prepare and present compelling investment propositions, business cases, and financial models to potential investors and partners.Lead the fact-finding and /or due diligence processes, negotiations, and deal structuring to optimise funding terms and align with the company's strategic objectives.Strategic Financial Planning and Analysis:Oversee the development of comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals and market conditions.Provide in-depth financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making by the executive team and board of directors.Identify and assess key financial risks and opportunities, implementing strategies to mitigate risks and capitalise on growth opportunities.Commercial Finance Management:Drive the commercial aspects of the finance function, including pricing strategies, profitability analysis, and cost management initiatives.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new business opportunities, product launches, and market expansion initiatives.Ensure effective cash flow management, working capital optimisation, and liquidity planning to support operational and strategic needs.Manage SARB and Exchange Control requirement.Ensure Finance Operations are smooth with all reporting requirements covered including Treasury management.Manage tax optimisation and compliance.Financial Governance and Compliance:Establish and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and adherence to statutory obligations.Implement best practices in financial management, risk assessment, and corporate governance.Owning the compliance function and sufficient understanding of the National Credit ActEnsuring the business is compliant with the relevant legislation including the National Credit Act, FICA and ITALiaising with the external compliance agency to ensure that all the submissions to the relevant authorities are in order.Administration:Ensuring that the business is organised in terms of file management, staff permissions, security of database and filesNegotiations with new candidates regarding salariesChairing any disciplinary enquiries with staffOversight of the entire administration of the business including PCs, stakeholdersOverseeing any legal advice that the business may be receivingOversight of employee on and off-boarding.RequirementsWhat it takes to succeed:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional qualification (e.g., CA, CFA) preferred.Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, focusing on fundraising, investor relations, and commercial finance.Proven track record of successfully securing capital and managing investor relationships in a high-growth environment.Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry, particularly within credit lending and fintech sectors.Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities, committed to fostering a high-performance culture.Familiarity with SQL and working with data.Highly organised and capable of managing multiple tasks.Strategic and innovative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.Excellent leadership skills.High level of integrity and professionalism.#J-18808-Ljbffr
