SAFETY AND SECURITY • SUPPORT SERVICES SENIOR PROFESSIONAL OFFICER: PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R961 945 PER ANNUM ●REFNO:SS26/24 ● CIVIC CENTRE, CAPE TOWN Requirements: Appropriate Masters degree At least five (5) years’ relevant experience Current valid registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) A valid driver’s licence Experience in primary health care services is desirable No criminal record Driver’s licence Will be required to work outside of normalbusiness hours as and when required. Key performance areas: Advise on impact of violence and prolong exposure to stressful situation on policing and emergency staff Develop an understanding of the psychological and emotional consequences of exposure to violence and traumatic incidents Advise on policies and procedures that promote the resilience, operational readiness and mental well-being Conduct psychological assessments personnel to identify and diagnose mental health conditions and psychological well-being Provide immediate psychological support and crisis intervention to personnel involved in critical incidents and traumatic events Conduct confidential individual and group therapy sessions for policing and emergency service personnel Conduct research in relation to violence, stress exposure and psychological support Provide consultation to departmental heads and supervisors on managing personnel with mental health challenges Perform several job-related administrative duties, including the writing of patient reports and analysing data Design and deliver training programmes aimed at upskilling staff to cope with psychological impact of violence.
