Creditors Manager Ref: LRF24019 Type: Permanent An established, but rapidly expanding transport and logistics business based in Bellville, Cape Town is seeking to employ a Creditors Manager with Transport or Logistics experience to join their Bellville, Cape Town based team asap. As a Transportation Creditors Manager, you will oversee and manage all aspects of accounts payable and creditor relations within our Creditors department. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations, while maintaining positive relationships with our transportation vendors and suppliers. You will play a critical role in optimizing cash flow, minimizing financial risks, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our transportation operations. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable Management: Supervise the accounts payable process for the Creditors department, including invoice receipt, approval, and payment processing. Ensure accurate and timely recording of all transportation-related expenses into the accounting system. Implement and maintain efficient procedures for invoice validation, discrepancy resolution, and payment scheduling. Build and maintain strong relationships with transportation suppliers. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements related to accounts payable and creditor management. Implement controls and procedures to mitigate financial risks, such as fraud, errors, and duplicate payments. Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in transportation creditor management, recommending adjustments to policies and procedures as needed. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and streamline accounts payable processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Identify opportunities for automation, technology integration, and workflow optimization within the transportation creditor’s function. Lead or participate in cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving overall finance and operations performance. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field. Proven experience (5 years) in accounts payable management, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and internal controls. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal stakeholders and external vendors. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with experience in implementing process improvements and automation solutions. Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve complex financial issues. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness in financial transactions and reporting. Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team management, decision-making, and project execution. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Salary – R30,000 to R40,000 basic depending on skills and experience.
