Location: Cape Town, South Africa Date Posted: May 3, 2024 The A ssociate will be a core member of the Investment Advisory team, contributing to a variety of high-impact projects for institutional clients. The team provides a full range of advisory and investment services including strategic asset allocation, portfolio construction, manager selection, investment and operational due diligence, on-going portfolio monitoring, in addition to bespoke consulting advice and analytics. The team covers all asset classes with a specialist focus on alternative investments, including private markets, specifically private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real estate . Key T as ks and R esponsibilities Lead research initiatives on investment managers, funds, and the markets in which they operate, particularly focusing on private markets Collaborate on manager selection mandates for institutional clients, c ontributing substantially to both qualitative and quantitative analyses Contribute to both investment and operational due diligence on fund managers Deliver various reports, including due diligence reports, economic reviews and research pieces Support strategic asset allocation and portfolio construction exercises Develop expertise quickly on major sectors of interest to the investment community CandidateP rofile M inimum of 5 to 7 years ’ relevant experience within alternative investments / private markets Proven experience in managing and leading a small team, demonstrating effective leadership and mentorship skills Proven academic background, coupled with a consistent track record of high-performance and strong work ethic Excellent attention to detail Proficient in report writing and ability to communicate complex ideas A bility to complete projects on time and accurately Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adjust to changing deadlines Ability to use initiative and work independently, while taking ownership Strong analytical and quantitative skills Team player with the capability to work autonomously when required Demonstrated drive, energy, and ambition to achieve desired outcomes Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Background in alternative investments , especially private markets ( private equity, private credit, infrastructure , real estate) Previous experience in investment consultancy or asset management preferable Previous experience with screening fund manager databases Part-qualified professional qualifications such as the CFA and actuarial qualifications are welcomed Candidates must hold a minimum of a second-class (division one) degree from a reputable university, ideally in finance, mathematics, engineering, sciences, or business. #J-18808-Ljbffr
