Foreman: Flight Line

RESPONSIBILITES:Manage the Mechanical Contractors on a monthly basis (Labour Requirements);Manage that there are sufficient personnel in Flight line, Domestic all line stations;Initiate overtime for technicians when required to meet planned dates/AOG situations;Provide expert troubleshooting assistance on the aircrafts, and direct technicians to remedy the faults;In collaboration with the Production Controller, manage the tasks schedule, A-Check forecasting and planning;Perform routine and non-routine inspections and maintenance on aircraft to ensure they meet the highest safety and operational standards;Ensure quality is built in on Pre-Flight, Post Flight and Transit inspections performed;Ensure quick turnarounds and efficient inspections, reduce aircraft downtime, keeping the fleet operational and on schedule;Ensure On Time Performance is measured, managed and improved;Oversee and manage the daily Flight line stations;Oversee deferred and recurring defects at all Flight line stations;Verify the efficiency of spares and tooling at each Station and adjust as movements change;Ensure systems are in place to provide information to technicians on the line in real-time;Provide input into the shift roster;Ensure that the team adheres to strict safety protocols and regulatory requirements to ensure the airworthiness of the aircraft and the safety of passengers and crew;Engage with all suppliers/stakeholders, including Flight Operations, etc. (Regional);Build and maintain relationships with all suppliers/stakeholders across all stations where applicable (Regional and domestic);Oversee the team and report on the team is performance;Provide overall guidance to the team;Set team goals in order to meet the overall business need;Oversee that the recurrent training, on the job training, and the mentoring of the technicians are being conducted effectively;Provide input into the annual budget;Provide daily feedback to Maintenance Control Centre and to Management regarding aircraft status;Provide monthly reports on the status of the aircraft fleet;Provide monthly feedback to management regarding personnel challenges.REQUIREMENTS:Grade 12 or equivalent;AME License B737/400/800 (essential) & experience on B737 / 400 / 800;Minimum of 20 years Aviation Experience;5 years Managerial or Supervisory role experience (Essential);5 years experience in Full Ground Runs CFM56-3C1/7B (Essential);Must have strong technical expertise in aircraft maintenance procedures and troubleshooting;Must be available to work extended hours, including weekends, as and when required;Must be prepared to avail yourself on short notice;Must be prepared to travel regionally, domestically and internationally.PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:Professional;High Integrity;Accountable;Reliable and dependable;Positive attitude;Proactive approach towards delivery of duties;Committed and willing to take on new challenges;Respect for colleagues.APPLICATION GUIDELINE:No external email applications will be accepted.Should no feedback be provided within two (2) weeks from the closing date, please consider your application as unsuccessful.FlySafair reserves the right * Not to proceed with this vacancy * To appoint the selected candidates based on its operational requirements.Reference number JHB000908Preference will be given to members of under-represented designated groups.
