HVAC Senior Procurement Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering) Kempton ParkThe job holder will be an experienced Engineer and Buyer providing a more complex buying services, implementing sourcing policies and procedures to ensure suppliers meet standards. Job holders ensure conformity with the stipulations of the procurement workflow procedures as well as the directives given by the procurement manager when need be. The relevant job requires communication with both internal and external clients and continuous coordination with the central services.Minimum requirements:Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical Engineering from a university5 years experience in a similar role.Proven experience on-site work as well as mandatory negotiation skills, contract/PO management, international trade, and project management (Planning/budget/reporting)Sound knowledge of main suppliers of HVAC/Electrical/duct and other components that fit BUTEC SA needs.Experience in ERP such as (SAP, D365 and Oracle)Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English, and knowledge in (French & Afrikaans) is an added bonus.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.Attention to detail and the ability to work independently!High on ethics and company dedication.Willingness to travel to different sites and outside of South Africa.Understanding and knowledge of HVAC in a construction environment.Key Accountabilities -At the beginning of the project and periodically, obtain from the projects a forecast of the upcoming procurement needs (procurement lists, target dates, budgets) to avoid any potential bottleneck in the procurement activity.Identify potential suppliers through conducting market scanning and research, proceed with their selection based on preset criteria, and subsequently contact approved suppliers requesting quotes and price lists to maintain and extend the procurement database as well as to secure high-quality supply channels.Review and update vendors pricing periodically ensuring that existing price lists reflect the current state of the market and minimizing actual costs.Maintain and foster good relationships with suppliers through keeping them updated regarding needs and intervening in the negotiation process when required to ensure that maximum Return On Investment is received.Observe the company procurement policies and procedures ensuring that the guidelines are followed whenever a supplier contact is undertaken and provide the needed support regarding these guidelines.Issue and dispatch concerned documents, intervene in and/or apply as the necessary procurement process that is handled by Level 1 employees to ensure efficient follow-up on procurement requests.Liaise and co-operate with relevant internal specialists, to determine items quality specifications and have their technical evaluation of selected items for a proper purchasing decision.Co-operate and liaise with the warehouse to be better informed regarding the quality of renderedservices and the supplied commodities.Investigate reasons of complaints from internal customers, review the history of concerned suppliers and take proper measures to ensure customer satisfaction.Handle minor deviations and promptly escalate complex ones to ensure their proper mitigation.Coordinate internally with concerned parties to follow-up on payments (advance payments, bank transfers and documentary credits) related to orders to reduce unforeseen problems.Ensure that the procurement documentation and correspondences are promptly filed, using both electronic solution and paper filing, implement an efficient data retrieval system in order to ensure ease of access to up-to-date information at all times.Participate in preparing the department budget and align procurement practices accordingly in order to ensure compliance.Support junior colleagues in conducting of work, offering help and advice as required and providing guidance on purchasing and supplying techniques to ensure the transfer of knowledge within the department.Performance Indicators -Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the position of Senior Procurement Engineer
