Primary purpose of the job:To ensure the effective management of the Johannesburg and Durban branch operations to achieve the company's long-term strategic goals and objectives.Operations Management and AdministrationEnsure effective management and planning of JHB & DBN branch daily operations and resources (staff, fleet and equipment)Day-to-day management and support to the team including crisis management and complaint resolutionEnsure Operations staff, drivers and guides adhere to all company proceduresEnsure optimum resource utilisation and effective cost managementContinuously drives towards cost optimisation and reduction of all operational costsIn coordination with head office, plan and forecast capacity and resource requirements in line with annual forecastEnsure the highest level of customer service and focus by all team membersMaintain and promote positive working relationships with other ILIOS Travel departments, staff and industry partnersParticipate and attend industry network events / partner events, where requiredAssist Fleet Manager with the management of the fleet budget, vehicle maintenance and licensing, as and when requiredEnsure the fleet meets the company's quality standards (mechanical condition, body condition and cleanliness)Manage operations to ensure all ILIOS Travel's goals and objectives are achievedPractices good corporate governance by ensuring the branch operations comply with all relevant laws and regulations and deals responsibly with permitted exceptionsAssures sustainability and stability of the company's operations through the development of standards, controls, systems and procedures, fiscal governance and regular evaluationHuman ResourcesEnsure that the company's personnel policies and procedures are adhered to and that the legislative requirements are complied withManage staff in line with the company's disciplinary code and make timeous recommendations and participate in corrective action, as and when requiredEnsure timeous and effective management of all HR related matters (leave, overall, staff appraisals etc, as required)Ensure recruitment plans and processes are in line within department's budget and company policiesEnsure induction and probationary review processes adhered toEnsure effective communication of all operations and field staff related mattersWork with management to forecast human resources needs and staff developmentEnsure a work environment that recruits, retains and supports quality employeesEnsure that ILIOS Travel facilities are always neat, organized, tidy and well-presented and drive towards a safe and healthy working environment for all employees in compliance with relevant legislationMinimum RequirementsBachelors / Diploma in Tourism ManagementMinimum of 10 years' experience in tourism transport logistics and people managementMinimum of 5 years' fleet management experienceComputer literacy (MS Word, Excel and Outlook; Internet)Own transport and ability to work shifts, as and when requiredCore CompetenciesEmotional intelligence and interpersonal skillsCustomer service / client relationship experienceKnowledge of the South African tourism industry, preferableKnowledge of Johannesburg and surrounding areasScheduling of fleet and staff and route planningStrong planning, organisation and administrative skillsDecision-making and problem-solving skillsEffective crisis management and resolution abilitiesAbility to work under pressureBusiness acumen and financial management skillsAttention to detail*SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE*Job Type: Full-timePay: From R1,00 per monthApplication Deadline: 2024/05/31#J-18808-Ljbffr
