A Tissue manufacturing company in Kempton Park is looking for a Maintenance Foreman with a minimum of 10 years FMCG / heavy engineering & maintenance experience, preferably in a continuous manufacturing process environment with training & practical experience in the principals of preventive maintenance.The ideal candidate must have:Matric or equivalent, National Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and Relevant Trade Test.Have 5 years supervisory experience.Have knowledge of all the legal requirements of the OHS Act, BCEA, LRA and other legal requirements. Lead by example, adhere to company rules and regulations, ability to do trouble shooting and present solutions in a fast-paced pressurized environment.CMMS knowledge and experience Prior leadership experience (leading a team of artisans)High level of understanding of World Class Manufacturing tools, processes and systems Computer literate.Knowledge of Converting Plants/tissue mills/pulp and paper plant operations will be an advantage.Knowledge of WCM / preventive maintenance principles and systems.Be able to interact and communicate effectively on all levels. Duties includes:Attend Daily Operations Meetings and together with production personnel ensure that the 24-hour operating window is secured by addressing priority equipment repairs and production requests. Plan and execute all breakdown repairs without delay.Identify causes of equipment failures and repetitive repairs and agree corrective action with the maintenance manager.Compile and Co-ordinate the execution of the daily maintenance plan.Develop works instructions through own and subordinates' input to standardize tasks and spares requirements following World Class Manufacturing best practices.Develop PM schedules for all equipment in the factory.Plan, prepare, approve and oversee maintenance shut tasks and execute these tasks.Ensure effective shut planning and no shut overruns.Reduce reaction times to breakdowns. (MTTR), though effective planning and schedulingIncrease mean time between failures (MTBF) by ensuring no rework on equipment.Ensure that work performed by external service providers are executed to the agreed standard.Identify critical spares requirements and ensure availability at all times.Liaise with store personnel re: equipment holding/storage and stock requirements.Visual display with graphics the Maintenance team performance (costs, effectiveness and productivity).Control maintenance costs effectively and prevent as far as possible over expenditure.Partake in on site Safety Program and conduct regular safety talks, toolbox inspection and ensure compliance to statutory inspection on all equipment.Ensure that all maintenance work is executed in a safe and efficient manner.Maintain high work and safety standards within area of responsibility.Perform Good Housekeeping Inspection, 5S and ensure plant housekeeping is of a high standard.Manage the maintenance personnel under his control through proper guidance, supervision, inspection and discipline.Assist with training, coaching, upgrading and general development of subordinates.Maintain open channel communication with subordinates through daily meetings or two-way feedback.Perform bi-annual performance appraisals.Maintain a high standard of time management of self and subordinates.The Foreman will perform any task that may be given to him from time to time by the engineering leadership team.Perform standby duties when required and give assistance when called on with after hour breakdowns.Do general daily administrative tasks and monthly reports.
