REQUIREMENTS National Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics/ Mechanical Engineering 5 years experience in supplier/ quality/ engineering of automotive components (development/ improvements/ problem-solving) ESSENTIAL SKILLS Initiative, be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication skills at all levels Ability to quickly learn and understand complex components/ systems/ networks Good technical problem-solving ability Computer literate (MS Office tools) Knowledge of various plastic/ rubber/ metal forming technologies required Willingness to travel and learn German and/ or the Portuguese language ADDED ADVANTAGE Knowledge of automotive components assemblies i.e. Body in White, etc. Problem-solving experience related to production and supplier challenges Component development experience German and/ or Portuguese communication skills RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure the company's products are engineered to local market requirements by designing, developing, testing and introducing locally manufactured components, by adapting and developing German-sourced designs to be compatible with local environmental conditions and by issuing technical data in line with the correct component engineering level to meet the following criteria: The company's products are built problem-free Local requirements in terms of local content are met Unique product features Safety and reliability in service Discontinued models but still required in South Africa Adhering to the required Product Emergence Process (PEP) manual The release of vehicle body components via engineering processes and systems The resolution of design-related problems on all locally manufactured platforms Keep accurate records of part level and Bill of Material Coordinating the testing and release of components and systems Initiate and drive cost savings on components into production Good problem-solving and communication skills and function well within a group environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
