Duties&Responsibilities The Chief Sales and Marketing Officer will be responsible for strategic sales leadership for the company across all lines of business and channels including internal sales and marketing employees. Included in this role is responsibility for directing and intensifying sales efforts primarily in the South African market, whilst also managing market competitiveness, pricing, and channel strategies. This goal is achieved by providing leadership toward the achievement of maximum profitability and sales growth in line with the company’s vision and values. The CSMO will also, in conjunction with the Divisional CEO’s, build the infrastructure and organization to build the Tsebo Brand, drive defined revenue growth targets, organizational capacity, market adoption of Tsebo’s services and solutions, and be responsible for revenue growth within the organization. The CSMO will take a group perspective on market opportunities and lead in the assessment and prioritization of geographic as well as market segments. Strategic Sales Leadership: Define the commercial path for growth and profitability. Establish critical plans and execute them effectively. Develop collaborative relationships with Tsebo businesses to align overall goals. Deliver Marketing Strategy: Lead development of the Tsebo marketing strategy with emphasis on brand recognition, penetrating the markets, sales growth, and market demand generation Directly responsible for conceiving and implementing successful marketing campaigns from channel to ad unit to landing page to purchase experience to lifetime value across all viable channels. Enterprise-Wide Business Development: Identify and pursue business growth opportunities aligned with Tsebo’s revenue strategy. Monitor key pipeline activities monthly. Engage with national and regional accounts, including outbound efforts for Multi-National Corporations. Management and development of Customer Focus Ensure appropriate customer measures and KPIs are maintained within Tsebo businesses Development of High level relationships and account management with exisiting and potential major customers Increase and maximise cross sell and upsell opportunities in Tsebo businesses Sales Team Leadership: Lead our sales team and work closely with the marketing team. Cultivate and grow strategic accounts. Promote cross-selling within the organization. Skills and Competencies Highly skilled communicator (both written and verbal). Strong negotiation and analytical skills. Highly skilled with people, leading, helping, supervising, instructing, persuading, mentoring, motivating, communicating, counselling, and negotiating. Exceptional sales professional and leader for both internal employees and external partners. Highly developed data skills – analysis, synthesis, reporting, and decision making. Driving Superior performance Leading with Professionalism and Integrity Focusing on customer Service excellence Working inclusively Qualifications Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience in a high-growth organization, with at least 5 years in sales (preferably in the South African market). Track record of successful integrated solutions.
