We have an exciting opportunity for an account manager with a passion and ability to think about digital in the context of a brand or campaign strategy. The role will require the chosen account manager to provide consistently excellent customer service and build relationships that will encourage new and repeat business opportunities. As the ‘face of the company’ the account manager must have superior communication skills. The ideal candidate will be an innovative, creative, independent thinker who adds value to our rapidly growing team. Post graduate degree or National Diploma i.e. communication, marketing or other related Business Sciences Full Driving License (This position is based in and around Johannesburg) Marketing knowledge and experience Financial and budget control ability Your key responsibilities Manage and maintain a portfolio of relationships with existing clients Act as client’s first point of contact on all main strategic, creative and resource issues Managing projects from beginning to end with support where appropriate Responsible for the smooth running of the account – operationally, creatively and financially – and is answerable on these points to the client and to the Business Director Be responsible for all client communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables and revenue. Responsible for financial management and budget control of projects Organise regular internal status meetings and external client meetings Record all client meetings in accurate contact reports, distributed within 24 hours Understand company capabilities and services, and effectively communicate all offerings to the client. Review status of all jobs on a weekly basis (or daily basis where applicable) Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings. Responsible for ensuring work is produced on time and within budget Assists other departments with forward planning on future projects Tries to foresee any client issues/questions or internal resourcing issues before they arise Ensures that timesheets are always up to date and given to accounts timeously Contribute to the writing of Business Plans for the account Maximising the account’s billings and/or income and for seeking out additional income opportunities A little bit about you Advise on optimisation tactics / best practice. A strong visual eye and understanding of design concepts is necessary Perspective on frontend (and backend) technologies and their impact on the design process Converting custom designs to code for WordPress. Frontend and backend (if possible) coding Carrying out maintenance on existing WordPress sites You have experience with modern web programming languages Passionate about learning and continuous improvement Up-to-date with technology Solid troubleshooting skills Brownie points * Not required, but advantageous Ability to work on Macintosh computer An active sense of humour Experience in management of web marketing campaigns Terms of contract 8:00 to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
