Who You'll Work With Manufacturing Africa is a large-scale investment promotion program which will create jobs for the future and set countries on a trajectory out of poverty. It is wholly funded by the UK’s FCDO and implemented by a consortium led by McKinsey and which includes BDO, Technoserve, Steward Redqueen and Reformatics. The Program is delivering significant increases in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into manufacturing sectors in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Senegal. It does this through: Work with international companies (investors and buyers) to build a significant pipeline of investments to ‘kick-start’ manufacturing in Africa, while ensuring that the FDI attracted benefits local economies as widely as possible and does not cause harm Work with African Governments to support the attraction and retention of more and stronger FDI in key manufacturing sectors and raising the political profile of the importance of manufacturing FDI in Africa Flexible technical assistance to increase investment in manufacturing, tailored to individual country needs (e.g. support to: diagnostics to identify priority problems; investment promotion agencies; local content units; trade facilitation; special economic zones, skills etc.) Co-ordination with and influence relevant partners and program to further the overall objectives and consolidate and share knowledge within the program. What You'll Do As the Team Leader (TL) you will be responsible for managing the overall program. You will lead the central team within the program, which is located in Nairobi, but with representation in each focus country: you will work with technical and country leads and their teams on the ground to ensure timely execution of deliverables set, and monitor progress. The role is full time until the end of this current phase in March 2027. It requires relevant technical background and strong networks and experience in the program areas. Strong team management experience is required, as is senior representational credibility. Specifically you will: Provide technical and managerial leadership in the development of the program’s work plans and its implementation Build relations with various government entities&stakeholders in target countries to increase awareness of the program and build a deal pipeline Be responsible for high level coordination and representation of the program with FCDO and other key stakeholders Provide quality oversight in program design and overall delivery of interventions Lead the design and delivery of selected target interventions Provide oversight of the program’s budget and finances Provide on-going leadership, capacity building and mentorship to the team Qualifications 15+ years of professional experience, ideally with 10+ years in Africa; experience may be in consulting, investment, international development Proven experience managing large and/or multi-country teams, ideally with 5+ years of managing teams of 10 or more, including local and international staff Extensive experience in investment attraction/deal based support/value chains, and program implementation on the ground Proven experience in planning, developing, managing, monitoring and delivering donor funded program A working knowledge of FCDO is a clear advantage #J-18808-Ljbffr
