Job Title: Trainee Fund Accountant Location: Johannesburg Description: This is an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Fund Accountant to form part of a Private Equity Fund Accounting Team, reporting to a Manager, aided by an Assistance Manager, within the Private Equity Fund Accounting Division in the Johannesburg Global Service Centre. The Trainee Fund Accountant will support a growing team that provides a full suite of fund accounting and financial reporting services to our Private Equity clients. The role will include accounting and financial reporting, NAV reporting and other fund administration duties for our portfolio of clients. Job specification: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing and coordinating a variety of administrative duties and tasks including Provide day-to-day fund accounting and financial reporting services to a portfolio of Private Equity clients and structures, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures; Ensuring that all day-to-day tasks are monitored and completed in a timely and satisfactory manner; Working closely with the client and Apex colleagues to ensure that accounting records are accurate, including that transactions are understood and correctly captured; Preparation of management accounts and financial statements in compliance with the relevant accounting standard (e.g. IFRS and GAAP); Provide inputs and necessary assistance with the process of NAV calculations; Where required, support the audit process to ensure the completion of milestones and deadlines; and Perform other duties to support the Manager and team as may be necessary from time-to-time. Skills Required: BCom Accounting Degree (or similar) MS Excel competency; Structured and detail orientated; Good analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills; Ability to prioritise work and meet strict deadlines; Excellent communication and organisation skills; Motivated and driven.
