Job Description The Manager Impairment and Portfolio Management is responsible for driving the development, analysis, monitoring, and reporting of impairments and credit loss. This includes responsibility for: Operational Execution Model Development and Validation Execution of Portfolio Monitoring Documentation and Reporting Cross-functional Collaboration Managing and guiding analysts within the impairment and portfolio management team and the wider credit team Key Responsibilities: Portfolio segmentation to enhance classification and measurement. Apply sound statistical methods to forecast credit losses and performance at a cohort level. Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop effective solutions. Communicate various findings and trends to provide clear strategic direction. Prepare reports and presentations, delivering information for executive-level reports and financials. Write or assist in the drafting of ad hoc and recurring reports. Work with teams on-site and remotely to drive projects and work streams forward. Guiding and developing credit analysts. Be accountable for developing, analyzing, and documenting a range of IFRS9 provisioning models and capital models across the entire business. Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns. Continuously research and assess new processes for model development and enhancement. Prepare monthly credit provisions and write-off reports in line with approved policy. Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges, do ad-hoc analysis, and present results. Ensure adherence to the IFRS9 standard. Minimum Requirements Graduate qualification in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related disciplines (Science) Strong reporting and analytics background within the Financial Services industry 5+ years working within a retail credit environment Minimum 2 years of experience developing provisioning models and/or quantitative analytics Python, R, SQL, and SAS experience are advantageous Closing Date : 21 August 2024 The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit in question.
