Financial Accountant - African Leisure Safari The Financial Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation, consolidation, and review of monthly management accounts in full compliance with IFRS reporting requirements and accounting policies. The role involves coordinating annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting with various teams, preparing and reviewing quarterly financial forecasts, and managing audits. The Financial Accountant will also handle daily allocation and monthly reconciliations of foreign currency bank accounts, manage credit card reconciliations, ensure timely payments to suppliers, and review balance sheet reconciliations. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Timely and accurate monthly management accounts preparation, consolidation, and review in full compliance with IFRS reporting requirements and accounting policies. Budgets: Coordinate annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting with Sales, DMC, and Commercial Teams. Forecasting: Prepare and review quarterly financial forecasts. Audit: Prepare all information for audit timeously to ensure audit commencement deadlines are met. Liaise with auditors to execute audit and facilitate responses timeously. Management of Sales incentives Audits. Review and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure transactions are fully and accurately disclosed to all stakeholders, assets are accounted for and secured, and risks are identified and managed. Investigate and report variances and implement controls to reduce variances where relevant. Bank: Daily allocation and monthly reconciliations of foreign currency bank accounts. Bank: Releasing of supplier payments. Credit Cards: Management and reconciliations of credit cards on Travel IT. Ensure timely payments to foreign suppliers. Ensure online suppliers' payments are released timeously. Review balance sheet reconciliations. Any functions deemed necessary to complete month-end accurately and timeously. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor Degree in Finance/Accounting or similar. Proficient with MS Office Packages and extensive knowledge of Excel. Knowledge of Tourplan is advantageous. A minimum of 3 years' experience in General Ledger, Journals and Bank Reconciliation, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, and reporting in multiple currencies. Hands-on, self-driven, motivated, organized, and results-oriented. Excellent problem-solving skills. Comfortable in dealing with and tolerant of diverse cultures, languages, and environments. Highly numerate and accurate, with an eye for detail on numbers and analysis of financial results. Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in General Ledger, Journals and Bank Reconciliation, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, and reporting in multiple currencies. Skills Required: Hands-on, self-driven, motivated, organized, and results-oriented. Excellent problem-solving skills. Comfortable in dealing with and tolerant of diverse cultures, languages, and environments. Highly numerate and accurate, with an eye for detail on numbers and analysis of financial results.
