Key responsibilities will include: Deal Making and EvaluationIdentify and facilitate investment opportunitiesEvaluate, structure, and price dealsCollaborate with other business units within the organisationNegotiate deal terms and conditions and ensure quality deals with lower impairments and improved collectionsBusiness Development and Stakeholder ManagementDevelop / implement business development strategies and cultivate extensive networks to enhance reputationDevelop customer relationship strategies and lead engagements / road shows to promote products and servicesGenerate new business according to targetsOperational Strategy and Policy DevelopmentProduce the Fund's annual Business PlanManage and report progress against KPAs and KPIsReview and implement operational manuals and proceduresDevelop and maintain financial models for transaction appraisalsAlign cross-functional policies and proceduresPortfolio ManagementLead the growth of the investment portfolio and manage the portfolio's quality and due diligenceOversee project management of investment teams and ensure appropriate transaction structuringProvide mentorship and support in complex negotiations and influence investment decisions at various committee levelsPeople and General ManagementSet performance standards and manage subordinate performanceApply performance management processesDemonstrate strong leadership and mentoring skills CRITERIA / REQUIREMENTSEngineering Degree / BCom Degree essential with an MBA / CA (SA) or relevant Masters degree being preferred (Combination of qualifications is advantageous)Minimum 8 years in a deal-making environment, with 5 years in people managementStrong credit and risk analysis skillsExperience in leading and closing BEE or private equity transactionsTechnical and industry knowledge of BEE financing and corporate financeStrong interpersonal, presentation and communication skillsWell-developed business networks within the BEE investment community and SA financial marketsProven ability to generate deal flow
