A Company based in Benoni, Gauteng is looking for a 2ndline IT Support Technician who will administer and maintain the infrastructure technology across the Company branches and multiple data centres. Key Performance AreasMaintain high availability infrastructureConduct research on latest networkingPerform general administrative functionsInfrastructure projectsKey TasksMaintain high availability infrastructureManage and configure the Wide Area Network (WAN)Manage and configure the Local Area Network (LAN)Optimize service improvement within the infrastructure environmentConduct remote infrastructure support and troubleshooting within prescribed SLAsManage IP addressesMaintain infrastructure security (e.g. through access controls, backups and firewalls)Monitor and maintain biometrics and smart numbersPerform daily maintenance and upgrades of the Affinity branch offices and multiple data centre infrastructure (Including cloud services) Conduct research on latest networkingDevelop and assist in Data Centre consolidationsCloud Services, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity connectivity design Perform general administrative functionsCollaborate and communicate with IT Support teamsProvide assistance to IT Support teamsCapacity managementReporting within the infrastructure, including monitoring and alertingProvide vendor, management and 3rd party partners supportEstablish and maintain a good working relationship with customers and other professionalsOversee telecommunications (i.e., IVR’s and smart numbers) Other requirementsUndertake cross-functional tasks for, and provide assistance to, Network AdministratorsOccasional night-time driving and workingLiaise with third party providers in a professional manner.Undertake UPS operational/functionality checks per prescribed checklist(s)Check that OEM UPS suppliers’ maintenance regimes are completed per SLAProcess “first point of contact” calls for UPS and systems issues and/or failuresRetrieve camera footage for managers’/supervisors’ reviewMonitor and maintain camera hardware and cabling Essential QualificationsMatricA+ CertificateN+ CertificateLinux Desirable Qualifications CCNASecurity+LPIC 1MCSE Essential Experience3 years in a similar roleComputer network experienceDesktop support experienceHardware maintenance experienceNetworking Devices experience  Desirable ExperienceExperience in DHCP, DNS and SMTPExperience in Firewalls and VPN SolutionsExperience in Active DirectoryExperience with networking fundamentals and protocols Knowledge and SkillsExcellent listening and questioning skillsDemonstrable knowledge in Monitoring tools e.g. Observium and netflow toolsCommunication skillsInterpersonal skillsOrganisation skillsProblem solving skillsAttributesTeam playerAble to work under pressureAttention to detailAble to prioritiseSelf-motivatedHonest, hardworking and humble#J-18808-Ljbffr
