Junior Business Developer JOB PURPOSE As a Junior Business Developer in Renewable Energy, your mission is to contribute to the growth of our renewable energy portfolio by identifying and securing innovative projects and technologies. You will work closely with the Senior Business Development, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to drive business opportunities forward. These opportunities will primarily be focused on corporate PPA and REIPPP for renewable projects in South Africa, arising through Greenfield development, acquisitions or strategic partnerships. KEY RESULT AREAS Below listed activities are intended to describe the essentials and are not intended as an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities and requirements : Identify and evaluate renewable energy technologies and business opportunities. Assist in the development of renewable energy projects, from initial concept to implementation. Support the Senior Business Developers in promoting renewable energy solutions to potential clients. Assist in the preparation of partnership agreements with contractors, technology providers, and project developers. Collaborate with internal teams to prepare and follow up on project proposals. Assist in business missions, meetings, and negotiations related to renewable energy projects. Develop tools and strategies to promote renewable energy technologies within the entity and externally. Support the creation of an international network focused on renewable energy within the entity. Provide support for participation in industry events and innovation initiatives. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Be accountable for supporting the development of renewable opportunities from conceptualization to Financial close Screen and evaluate opportunities. Support to close a successful proposal submission in compliance with the investment criteria and risk mandate. Contribute to define and apply regional BD procedures, methods and documentation. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Degree University Degree in Engineering, Finance or Economics; Experience Minimum 2 years' relevant working experience in the Energy sector; Experience in South Africa's Private PPA programmes; Good understanding of the typical bid requirements for the renewable energy industry; Language Fluent in English, knowledge of other language(s) is a plus; Specific Knowledge / skills Strong interest in innovative renewable energy technologies. Proactive and dynamic approach to work. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work in a multicultural environment. Location / travel Place of residence: Johannesburg, South Africa; Some travel in South Africa and some travels internationally for Group seminars and meetings.
