Bloom Restaurant, a 125-seat terrace-style restaurant overlooking our garden, situated on the scenic coastal road of nestled in the affluent neighborhood Pereybere. Bloom opened in November 2021 a great success story in Mauritius, known for pioneering the 'brunch-style' restaurant concept in the country and has experienced a 30% year-on-year growth. Food Specialties: *Breakfast: Eggs Benedict, smoothie bowls, light eating dishes on homemade breads, barista coffee, and freshly pressed juices. *Lunch: Homemade burgers (beef, chicken, vegetarian), salads, fresh tuna/salmon poke bowls, seared main plates, and homemade desserts. *Monthly Dinner Event: coming soon. (To be developed with new Head Chef.) Duties include but are not limited to: In service: managing the pass and final plating station and command the kitchen service. Teaching and enforcing standard food safety practices within the kitchen team. Daily kitchen meeting and management meeting twice a week. Teach and demonstrate good cooking practices in the kitchen. Managing food mise en plus and stock levels, leasing with our purchasing manager for new products required/returns/etc. Managing a kitchen team of 10 staff. Assist management in developing and improving dishes. Conceptualize dinner set menus every month. Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Knowledge required: 3-5 years in a similar role. Applicable degree or qualification. Experience in dealing with high volume, in a similar environment would be preferable. Strong Leadership ability. Well organised. Computer Literate and experience on MICROS BOH Systems will be an advantage as well. Ability to delegate and manage down effectively. High attention to detail and process driven. Ability to multi-task. Discretion and integrity. Stress tolerance. Decision-making. *Salary: Assessed based on skill and experience level. *Work Permit: The first 3 months will be considered a trial period. Within 2 weeks of arrival, based on performance, if the position is secured, a work permit application will be initiated by our company on behalf of the employee. The work permit will be for a 3-year contract agreement with fair and negotiable terms.
