Duties & Responsibilities This role offers tremendous potential, as the chosen candidate will be groomed for the CFO position in the long term.A minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in similar roleBCom Accounting Degree essential, CA (SA) preferredStrong MS Office especially Excel knowledgeMinimum of 5-8 years operational financial management experience2-3 years people management experience with teamAdvanced working experience of MS Office, specifically MS ExcelExperience with ERP systems (Accpac, Syspro & CaseWare will be advantageous)Knowledge of Legislation (Tax, Company law, IFRS, BBBEE, etc)Knowledge of AuditingKnowledge of MIS (systems development)Duties:Financial recording and record-keeping and reporting, including preparation of management and statutory information for internal, board-level, and external stakeholder use and interpretationCompliance with relevant statutory and other legislationSafeguarding the assets and interests of the company and its shareholders by advising the MD, board, and other stakeholders about the financial health of the organisationImplementing the principles of transparency and good corporate governance as they apply to the financial functionParticipating in and contributing to investment and other strategic decision makingEstablish and maintain accounting proceduresCreditors managementDevelop and maintain budgeting databaseFinancial audit preparation and coordinate the audit processDrafting of financial statements on CaseWareInteract with external auditors in completing auditsResponsible for the following departments activities:Credit ControlGeneration of cost variance reporting and analysis of findingsAnalyse and report profit marginsIdentify and recommend cost effective solutionsPerformance managing of staff to ensure that they consistently meet the high standards expected of themSupplier applications review and submit for approvalVehicles Repairs and Maintenance quotes to review and submit for approvalVehicles Maintenance Schedule to keep updatedReview and approve all group companies’ VAT returnsTax calculations and submissions on E-Filing.
