Job SummaryOur client is crucial in the development and management of renewable energy projects in South Africa, collaborating closely with a private fund that owns and invests in these schemes. Both producing and storing renewable energy, they provide effective solutions and services to the fund, including optimal maintenance, technical advisory for due diligence processes. Already owning nearly R80 million in assets, recent additional investment will enable this portfolio to triple in size. As such, they are experiencing a high volume in projects, with a large pipeline underway.Reporting directly to the investment managers, they are looking for an Electrical Engineer who has gained knowledge of a wide variety of renewable sources. The selected candidate will manage the current portfolio day to day and assist in the due diligence process of new initiatives and partnerships. Acting as a consultant between on-the-ground service teams and the owners, you will be expected to manage:Oversee the EPC Contractors on siteAdvise on new acquisitionsProvide technical solutions to day-to-day problemsReport on portfolio performanceProduce detailed budget for maintenance and upgrade projectsManage external O&M teamsProviding recommendation on plant optimizationMonitor plant performanceStrategizing alongside EXCO membersThe ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of experience working for an EPC contractor or Engineering consultancy and hold a Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering. In addition to a strong commercial understanding, demonstrated experience in a technical capacity, and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this position.
