ERG Africa invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Category Manager which will be based at our offices in Rosebank.The Category Manager is responsible for working with external and internal customers to identify and execute sourcing solutions to drive down the total cost of ownership on identified categories and to conduct vendor and contract management, supplier relationship management and develop recommendations for managing procurement processes and spending.French speaking is essential for this role and experience managing a spend of 250 plus million USD and boardroom experience. Any CV submitted by a third party will be treated as a direct applicationShould you not receive any feedback after 14 days of closing please consider your application unsuccessful.Key Duties:Collate and analyze current spend dataIdentify opportunities, prioritize and develop a high-level category segmentation approachDevelop an internal category profile defining the Total Cost of Ownership, procurement processes, spend profiles and risksDevelop an industry and supplier profile, including understanding the industry dynamics, potential suppliers and industry and supplier financialsDefine the Category Strategy outlining internal change tactics, the sourcing strategy and strategic options for the category. Also identify and quantify opportunities defining the normalized baseline and benefits potential.Identify and qualify suppliers through agreed selection criteriaConduct sourcing eventsDevelop and negotiate agreements / contracts with selected suppliersFacilitate the drafting and signing of contracts with legal, suppliers and designated contract approversDevelop communications and implementation plans for the categoryEffectively leverage the capacity and capability within the Sourcing support team (within Transactional Services), where needed, in order to support the execution of selected activities within the strategic sourcing processDevelop a Supplier Relationship Management planMonitor and manage supplier scorecardsEstablish, maintain and manage relationship with suppliersConduct regular review sessions with suppliers to manage project progress, supplier performance and supplier risksManage quality and operational issues with the supplierEffectively leverage the capacity and capability within the Supplier Performance Management team (Transactional Services), where needed, in order to support the execution of selected activities related to monitoring supplier performance deviationsDevelop category approach by analyzing category data and reviews with stakeholdersManage implementation of the Category Strategy including the coordination of projects and stakeholdersConduct market research monitoring category indices and market changesManage contract changes and negotiationsDevelop and manage category demand plansMonitor and manage category purchasing complianceDevelop category purchasing policies where requiredManage communications and relationships with key stakeholdersManage category spot buys through the sourcing support servicesReview and manage adhoc issues from end users (e.g. maintenance, production, legal) and Supply ChainEffectively leverage the capacity and capability within the Category Management team (withinTransactional Services), where needed, in order to support with execution of selected contract administration and management activities.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in one of the following specialties:Procurement and Supply Chain ManagementMechanical EngineeringElectrical EngineeringMining OperationsEconomicsMachineryMaster’s degree would be advantageousMinimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement services, strategic sourcing, project planning, supplier development, contracting, cost management, cost avoidanceExperience in one or more of the following industries:Mining, Machinery, Energy, Industrial, Oil & Gas, Chemical, ConstructionMinimum of 2 years’ experience in a managerial positionMicrosoft Office Package advanced user, SAP, or MSD knowledgeCIPS or APICS licenseSkills and Competencies:SkillsKnowledge of resource and financial managementKnowledge of procurement and category management best practices, process implementation skillsAbility to analyze and mitigate the risks, skills in category strategies implementation.Supplier panel identification and performance follow-upKnowledge of procurement and category management best practices, process implementation skillsCompetenciesLeadershipAchievement motivationStress toleranceTeamshipFlexibilityComprehensive approach to problemsDevelopment orientation#J-18808-Ljbffr
