Role: Investment Analyst: Hedge FundsCategory: Investment ManagementLocation: Centurion, SandtonSalary: Market-RelatedAre you a talented and ambitious Investment Analyst with a passion for Hedge Funds?Our client, a prominent player in the Asset Management sector, is looking for a skilled professional to join their team.Duties & ResponsibilitiesMonitor existing hedge funds in which the business is invested and track information for these strategies.Perform comprehensive due diligence on new funds, & funds within our investable universe. The due diligence analysis includes understanding the mechanics of the strategy, the drivers of performance and the risk sources. The analysis includes both quantitative and qualitative assessment and requires the development of quantitative tools to augment the process.Prepare written findings on hedge fund manager engagementsTrack and maintain single-manager portfolio informationTrack and assess risk data, and assist in enhancing quantitative modelsOngoing research and development of which findings are presented back to the investment teamAssist portfolio manager with daily portfolio management responsibilitiesMake recommendations to enhance the investment mandates to increase the profitability or cost-effectiveness of the investment solution.Monitor and report on portfolio performance across the rangeKeep abreast of current developments and market intelligenceAssist in updating marketing material and presentations as requiredAd hoc projectsEngage with the broader investment team to identify opportunities for collaborationBe the companys investment ambassador.Act and behave in the best interest of the companys investments.Collaborate and participate in multi-disciplinary teams in the companys investments.Maintain continuous professional development to ensure upskilling and keeping abreast and ahead.Contribute to innovation, change agility and collaboration within the team.Qualifications:Degree in Investment Management (or equivalent).CAIA or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred.Experience:Solid background in Financial Markets.3-5 years experience in the investment industry.Previous hedge fund exposure would be advantageous.Strong quantitative skills would be advantageous.Competencies:Enquiring mind.collaboration.seeks responsibility and accountability.self-motivated.willingness to learn.critical thinking skills.excellent communication and interpersonal skills.problem-solving.presentation skills.quantitative skills.self-awareness and insight.
