This incumbent will form part of a team that is responsible for the overall risk rating for Employee Benefit Risk schemes, both new and renewal business, across South Africa. The ideal incumbent should have a thorough understanding of Group Risk business for different products in South Africa, with specific knowledge of the Retirement fund industry. This includes understanding of Systems, Processes, and Procedures. This individual will serve as a liaison with all internal and external stakeholders as defined per risk specialist. The overall purpose of the role is to ensure business growth and client retention while ensuring profit expectations are achieved. This requires continued engagement with relevant stakeholders and a good understanding of the market space we operate within. Key Responsibilities: Overseeing the production of new quotes for all benefits. Pricing and benefit design of large/complex new business opportunities. Ensure delivery of new business quotations and pricing for renewal business is appropriately concluded. Ongoing development of pricing processes. Supporting the business development teams to grow the portfolio. Management of existing risk book through re-rating of existing schemes. Vulnerable schemes management (existing business). Negotiation with clients, reinsurers, brokers, and sales team on all aspects linked to the Group Risk Business. Attend meetings with various stakeholders as required. Ensure effective communication between all stakeholders to build and maintain good stakeholder relationships. Ensure accurate and timely provision of information. Implementation of strategic projects and business acquisitions. Resolve escalated technical queries and complaints. Quality control of output. Responsible for ongoing technical development and ongoing maintenance of the quotation system in line with IT strategy including reinsurance treaty changes. Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years Group Risk retirement fund benefit experience – specifically involved in quoting and pricing activity. Required Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of the group risk industry. Strong technical acumen. Strong customer relationship management skills. Knowledge of group risk products.
