Job SummaryUnderstand and keep abreast of the law for IT3s, FATCA, and CRS. Track and manage Tax Operations submissions and other related issues. Manage Subordinates and Stakeholder relationships. Attend Industry meetings and workshops, liaise with Tax Authorities and Industry bodies.Support and participate in FSSA and FC specific strategic agenda and CSI projects.Deal with correspondence received from tax authorities. Provide advice on Tax Reporting Tools and be an SME on processes for FATCA/CRS and IT3 related projects. Provide training to BU reporting team where necessary. Provide management and administrative functions.Providing training when required, reporting and providing necessary support to BU’s pertaining to other Tax related operational work within the agreed Target Operating Model.Job Description Accountability:  Risk ManagementEnsure processes and controls enhancement to ensure Tax Reporting to the various tax authorities complies with local legislation.Ensure reporting to tax authorities is accurate and complete thereby avoiding reputational risk to Absa.Ensure reporting is completed before deadline to avoid penalties being levied on Absa by tax authorities. Accountability:  Reporting SA (FATCA/CRS and IT3)Ensure that all SA entities are reporting in full and accurately on all products that are reportable.Ensure all SA entities report by the set regulatory deadlines.In the event of inaccurate submission communicate to Business Units (BUs) where remediation is required, and advice on how to rectify.Assist in minimizing Client impact of incorrect submissions.Provide advice to all SA entities on what products and services are reportable.Compile attestation schedules when required.Provide training, support and tax advice to divisions – as required.Maintain a good relationship with BU Leads - attend meetings, refer BUs to appropriate advice team member if / when required.Maintain good relationships with SARS and Industry bodies.Attend industry and SARS meetings and workshops and provide feedback and advice to SARS and Industry Bodies on practicality and legality of new reporting requirements.Advise BUs on impact of new reporting requirements.Ensure all SA legal entities comply with tax reporting requirements and legislation.Ensure all entities report before deadlines.In the event of an inaccurate submission assist entity with remediation, communication and rectification.Clarify certain law aspect with relevant in-country responsible persons in conjunction with group tax.Chase non-responsive Business Units/Escalate when required.Drafting process documents.Finding ways of improvement in processes.Providing training to Business Units on processes where required.Responsible for tracking and generating weekly and monthly management reports.Successfully maintain service level agreements.Own the complete end-to-end FATCA, CRS and IT3 processes. Manage the following: • Review of monthly Management Information. • Business Units completion of input schemas. • Obtaining necessary sign off and facilitate attestation process. • Validating input schema. • Generation of SARS submission files and Submitting report to the Authorities. • Respond to queries from authorities. • Submission of declaration to SARS. • Management of client queries and escalations timeously. Education and experience requiredBachelor of Commerce Degree or related qualification (specialisation in Tax preferred)Post graduate qualification an added advantageAbility to work independently with little or no supervisionExperience in Financial Services Industry across Banking and other Financial Services (FATCA/CRS or IT3 knowledge an added advantage)Analytical and Problem-solving skills Be able to check, perform and understand interest calculations with relation to different products.
