Accounts payable specialist job description At EY, we rely on a meticulous financial system to drive our business forward. The accounts payable (AP) department plays an integral role in managing cash flow and partnering with the broader business through processing, tracking, and recording payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. We are searching for a skilled and experienced AP specialist to join or finance team. The AP specialist will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners. Objectives of this role Support the company in optimizing its financial transactions and systems Strengthen and grow relationships with vendors through timely payments and being the primary contact for escalations Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting Comply with applicable regulations Responsibilities Managing the offshore AP team, located in India Ownership of and ensuring that the various SOP's are appropriately updated as needed Managing the relationship with Procurement and ensuring vendors are loaded timeously and appropriately Review invoices for appropriate documentation and accurate posting Review month end vendor recons prior to payment Ensuring appropriate SARB approvals are obtained timeously for any applicable foreign payments Primary contact for BBBEE related queries on vendor spend Being involved in and managing ad-hoc projects in the AP space as needed Assist senior financial officers as needed In time acting as the AP escalation point for Africa Skills and qualifications Understanding principles of finance and accounting Superb time management skills and detail orientation Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information Strong mathematical skills Experience in accounts payable Experience with SAP Experience with banking tools and interfaces Ability to interact at multiple levels within the organization Supervision Responsibilities Self-starter with creative approach to problem solving Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to flex and adapt to working in a changing environment Demonstrate an ability to quickly build relationships based on doing the right thing #J-18808-Ljbffr
