Employer DescriptionOur client is a multi-disciplinary engineering design and project management company.Job DescriptionParticipate in EPCM/EPC execution projects, studies (from concept to detail) and tenders, and ensuring work standards are met.Responsible for the hands-on engineering and approval of rotating equipment and packaged units on assigned projects.Set-up of project schedules and to see that all dates, rates of progress and design periods are realistic and are met.Review and approve flowsheets for correctness, all operating and design conditions and piping and instrumentation connections.Develop equipment specifications to meet the clients standards, international and South African standards and regulatory requirements.Prepare technical bid analysis and evaluation reports.Review and approve supplier documents mechanical and piping specifications.Responsible for overall technical management/co-ordination on supplier orders.Give guidance to client, project team members, other specialist engineers and inspectors on equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units engineering matters.Coordinate review of all other engineering aspects of package unit suppliers drawings.Assist in the mechanical construction, handover and commissioning of projects.Coordination and reviewing of digital / drawing-based deliverables, including 3D models, piping isometrics, general arrangement drawings, etc.Experience with key mechanical software, such as hydraulic analysis packages (e.g. PipeFlo, Bentley Hammer) is an advantage.Developing and critiquing existing designs and vendor systems.Gap analysis of pre-existing project information.Extensive international travel.QualificationsBEng/BSc/MEng/MSc in Mechanical Engineering.Pr.Eng registration with ECSA (advantageous).Skills5 to 10 years experience with a minimum of 3 years in the mineral industry.Familiar with commonly used mechanical engineering standards and codes including but not limited to API, NFPA, ASME, GPS.Working knowledge of mechanical software packages CAD, 3D & 4D modelling, FEA, Solid Edge, etc.Prior experience in the metallurgical industry, with some additional experience in chemical industry would be a bonus.#J-18808-Ljbffr
