As Assistant General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of lodge operations, with a particular focus on guest experience, staff management, and conservation efforts. You will work closely with department heads and staff members to ensure the smooth functioning of the lodge while maintaining the highest standards of service and wildlife conservation.Key Responsibilities:Assist the General Manager in day-to-day operations, including staff management, guest relations, and wildlife conservation efforts.Oversee various departments, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, activities, and maintenance, to ensure seamless coordination and exceptional guest experiences.Lead by example and provide hands-on support to team members, fostering a positive work environment and promoting a culture of excellence and environmental stewardship.Collaborate with department heads to develop and implement strategies to enhance guest satisfaction, improve operational efficiency, and support wildlife conservation initiatives.Monitor lodge performance metrics, analyze data, and provide regular reports to the General Manager on key performance indicators related to guest satisfaction, staff productivity, and conservation efforts.Assist in recruitment, training, and development of staff members, ensuring that they are well-equipped to deliver exceptional service and support conservation goals.Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, striving to exceed guest expectations and promote a deep appreciation for the natural environment.Support wildlife conservation efforts, working closely with conservation organizations and local communities to protect and preserve the surrounding ecosystem.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Conservation Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred).Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a game lodge or safari setting.Passion for wildlife conservation and a deep appreciation for the natural environment.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, with a proactive approach to resolving issues and implementing solutions.Proficiency in lodge management software and Microsoft Office suite.
