That means you will define and review standards and legislation applicable to site,validate design for HSE into projects and modifications, and support defined work processes (e.g. IIM pillar) to improve HSE application and effectiveness. You will maintain all HSE regulatory requirements for plantHow you will contributeYou will:Co-ordinate implementation of all HSE programs and processes. Prepare and build consensus annual plansfor facility/function wide HSE initiativesPlan/Budget/Control annual capital budget for HSE to enable execution of the HSE plan and adherence to all internal andexternal compliance standardsProvide HSE expertise for the facility/function for all new projects and change management activitiesEnsure appropriate risk assessments are conducted and follow ups implemented to minimize or eliminate accidents,asset losses that might cause harm to one of the company’s employees, contractors, visitorsEnsure that the appropriate talent is in place through training, mentoring, and succession planning and supportsdevelopment and learning capabilities of Safety specialistsEnsure the facility standards are in compliance with both Company and governmental/community regulationsEnsure training and coaching are taking place to drive a safety-perfect culture and to ensure safety standards andawareness are well understood throughout the plant organizationWhat you will bringA desire to drive your future and accelerate your career. This job is responsible for the implementation, facilitation and maintenance of all Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental programs and processes at the Mondelez Manufacturing unit thereby ensuring a safe working environment prevention of asset losses, guaranteed compliance with relevant and applicable local Health and Safety and Environmental regulations and Mondelez policies, standards and procedures. Key AccountabilitiesResponsible for managing, coordinating and overseeing implementation of all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) programs and processes at the plant in line with IL6S.Participate in all regional HSE alignment activities and drive standardization for the Gqeberha plant accordinglyEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements and Mondelez policies and continuous improvement in key identified measures and objectivesPrepare and build consensus annual plans for plant wide HSE initiativesOversee implementation of company HSE management systemsProvide leadership and administration to overall HSE programDevelop HSE performance standards for facilityLead and coordinate site audits and ensure complianceEnsure appropriate risk assessments are conducted and follow-ups implementedEnsure training and coaching for HSE is executedServe as primary point of contact for all HSE regulatory contactsTake full responsibility for the Site Safety Pillar.Ensure that all the facilities services to the site is managed to provide facilities support as needed within budget.Ensure compliance with LOTO on assets for the site.Lead the sustainability agenda for the site.Job Specific Requirements:Degree/B-Tech in Safety Management/Engineering and or equivalentSAMTRAC or NEBOSCH Qualification would be advantageousSound knowledge of HSE standards, audits and systems implementationGood IT skills, experience in manufacturing systems such as SAP, MFG / Pro would be advantageousExcellent knowledge of manufacturing processes as well as knowledge of CI, Quality and SHREQ principlesExtensive experience in a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 5 years of management experienceExposure to a shop floor with an unionized environmentKnowledge of maintenance, engineering, procurement, CS&L as well as labour relationsExcellent written and oral communication skills and be fluent in EnglishThe ability to plan, organize and drive for results while constantly measuring the quality, cost and delivery.The ability to analyse situations and make decisions that will have a strategic and long term solution to problems ensuring that they do not occur againExcellent business acumen and an extensive knowledge of business operations and how they integrate, its goals, challenges, values, strategic vision and expected ways of operationThe ability to not just be a leader who motivates, leads by example and continuously challenges his team and the status quo to change and evolve.It is expected that you will:Carry out the role accountabilities within the operating and process frameworks that apply to all facilities in our company.Work together with all your peers and customers.
