The individual in this role will assist with the following functions: Driving debtors' collections to meet required branch targets Facilitating the resolution of customer disputes and queries Building and maintaining good customer relations Collaborating with sales departments to drive the collections from customers Minimizing the provision for bad debts and bad debts written off in the branch Performance Allocation of debtor's collections to ensure the monthly collection targets are met by inspecting the daily bank statements, bank reconciliations, and liaising with customers daily to ensure remittances are received for payments. Managing the minimization of the provision for bad debts by ensuring that all long outstanding amounts (older than 3 months) are collected from customers, monitoring customer compliance with their agreed payment terms, issuing stop supplies on their accounts if necessary, and notifying management for letters of demand to be issued. Resolving customer queries and disputes by communicating regularly with customers and providing supporting documentation as requested (e.g., invoices, statements). Continued dedication to customer satisfaction and service excellence will be key. Collating and following up on a weekly disputes list for interdepartmental queries. Compiling accurate monthly debit order files and submitting them to National. Capturing journal entries from interbank transfers for approval by the Manager. Ensuring proper and timely communication with and responses to requests for information. Establishing and maintaining good customer relations and assisting with difficult accounts by attending meetings with customers and reconciling the account. Ensuring accurate completion and submission of new credit applications for new customer accounts to be comprehensively vetted. Assisting the Commercial Manager with timely and accurate information, reconciliations, and documentation as requested. Ensuring compliance in the area of responsibility with statutory regulations pertaining to good corporate governance. Encouraging, developing, and implementing operational innovation. Requirements Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent qualification and other appropriate job-related work course. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position. Experience working on the Kerridge System and Credit Control. Code EB / 8 driver's license. Must have managed a total debtor's book of R10m. Ability and suitable experience in compiling reports utilizing and analyzing various data sources and presenting them in a user-friendly format. Strong financial/numerical ability. Proactive with the ability to prioritize and successfully complete multiple tasks timely; ability to see a project through from start to finish. Very organized and structured approach to task completion; strong focus on attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to interact with senior management. Excellent communication skills with people at all levels in an organization and external customers. Strong work ethic – honest, reliable, hardworking, dedicated, and takes pride in work carried out. Computer literate with advanced/expert skills in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel. Fostering long-term partnerships/relationships with key clients and suppliers.
