To position Nelson Mandela University as one of the leading African universities amongst key internal and external institutional stakeholders.KEY PERFORMANCE AREASProvide strategic management, innovative, transformative and transformational leadership to the Communication and Marketing division and the University.Build and enhance the Nelson Mandela University name, identity and brand.Lead the development and deployment of institutional stakeholder communication and engagement strategies, platforms and tools, working closely with executive and senior leadership of the University within the support and academic structures.Strategically manage stakeholder communication and engagement programmes and infrastructure.Lead the development and implementation of student recruitment strategies.Reposition the University's Arts, Culture and Heritage function in line with the transformative and transformational ambitions of Mandela University.Embed a culture of resource stewardship, strategic financial management and empowering people management.CORE COMPETENCIESStrong: strategic and transformative leadership skillsThorough: understanding of the SA higher education sectorUnderstanding: of internationalisation trends in higher educationStrategic: thinking and planning skillsStrong: proficiency in market analysis and a deep understanding of brand positioningExcellent: communication capabilitiesChange: management and transformation skillsComplex: problem-solving skillsStrong: project management skillsStrong: people and financial management skillsExcellent: interpersonal and networking skillsExpertise: in digital marketing, public relations, team management, and the ability to adapt to evolving market trends.REQUIREMENTSA Masters degree in a marketing and communications discipline.At least 8-10 years senior management experience.Experience in a senior leadership position in Higher Education will be an added advantage.All shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo psychometric assessments.Furthermore, it is expected that all short-listed candidates will:Give permission to undergo verifications of qualifications, publications, credit records and criminal records as well as any other verification deemed appropriate by the University.Deliver a 15-minute presentation, the topic of which will be communicated timeously; and,Provide details of at least three individuals who could provide professional references.SCREENING QUESTIONSDo you have a Masters degree in a related field?Do you have 8-10 years experience, in a senior management role in leadership?SALARY RANGES (Peromnes)Applications must be accompanied by a recent and comprehensive Curriculum Vitae and a covering letter stating how applicants satisfy the requirements in respect of each of the Key Performance Areas and Core Competencies and the official Nelson Mandela University job application form.
