The purpose of the job is to remove excess wool from overweight bales to create bags which are destined for the bin blending department. Create bags on the Talman system and capture the weight of the wool that was removed. Ensure that all information (i.e. on the system and bag) is correct and legible. Promote optimum production levels are maintain on the on the OM floor. We have to get serious for a bit. We need: Grade 12 2 years warehouse experience. Excellent computer skills. Good communication skills. Accuracy and attention to detail. Be prepared to work overtime and shifts when required to do so. Be prepared to work under pressure for long hours. Be physical able to move wool bags KEY FUNCTIONS: Workflow and transporting of bags: Control conveyer to supply OM lines 6 and 7 with wool bales. Transport overweight bags to the Binning and Blending department Place overweight bag identification forms deep into the bags, so that it does not fall out accidentally. Handling of overweight bags: Ensure that all information on the overweight bag identification form is correct and legible. Ensure that the correct identification details accompany the relevant bag of wool. Place overweight bag identification forms deep into the bags so that it does not fall out accidentally. Correcting overweight bales: Remove the minimum required amount of wool so that the bales adhere to prescribed industry approved guidelines. Ensure that the wool is always identifiable, and that the information is always correct and legible. Ensure that all bales are closed properly and neatly after word was removed. Recordkeeping and data capturing: Preliminary data capturing of wool producer details and references are done in the overweight record book provided. Follow the prescribed work procedure to create overweight bags on the Talman system. Marking Bales: Ensure all farmer descriptions in a lot are the same and comply with the system. Any discrepancies with regards to bale markings should be reported to the line manager, immediately. Only the correct reference number should be written on the bale. Incorrect reference numbers must be scratched out. Only permitted to work with blue ink. Quality Control: Compliance with applicable ISO standards Ensure that all the machinery in the Wool store is repaired and kept in a working condition. Ad Hoc: Perform any other ad hoc activities/duties/tasks/ as requested by the supervisor or management in the plant (BKB) Assist and follow any and verbal instructions that is being given by management/supervisor. Health and safety: Always maintain a safe and clean work environment. Report any safety hazards in the working environment to your supervisor/management.
