Read more at www.dsv.com Location: Germiston Job Posting Title: Manager, Operations Time Type: Full time Grade 12 Diploma in logistics/supply chain or freight forwarding Extensive Knowledge&experience in WMS MS Office, specifically Outlook, Excel&Word Job Related Requirements • Minimum of 5 years experience in Automotive Logistics and/or warehousing. • Minimum of 3 years supervisory/managerial experience. • Minimum of 3 years experience in client facing environment • Minimum of 3 years experience in managing, supervising, evaluating and monitoring suppliers and their performance vs SLA’s • Proven experience with project implementations • Excellent and strong Administrative skills. • Be able to work overtime and flexi-time if required (including weekends and public holidays). • Be prepared to undergo random polygraph and surveillance examinations. • Hands-on experience in Industrial Relations and People Management/Leadership. • Be prepared to undergo credit and criminal checks as well as integrity tests. • Planning&Organizing – very strong ability to manage time&prioritize. • Excellent communication skills and ability – be able to communicate at all levels within and out of the company. • Able to work under pressure and without supervision. • High level of emotional intelligence. • Must be able to work effectively unsupervised. Main purpose of the role This role will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling all activities for the inbound, inventory, outbound&distribution departments. Duties and Responsibilities • Plan and implement various processes in line with the KPI and contractual obligations. • Ensure inventory processes are followed in operations and admin. • Maintain and update various reports in line with KPI and contractual obligations. • Compiling of reports&spreadsheets as per SOP’s. • Appropriate management of costs, assets, employees&processes such as service level costs, overtime costs, account costs. • Adherence to current service level agreements. • Handling customer queries. • Managing and control of resources such as people management, asset management and processes. • Meeting all deadlines including all KPIs but not limited to. • Initiating and implementing performance management of staff. • Identify, drive and implement improvements in support of productivity and cost savings. • Protect and control company assets. • Problem solving and system analysis. • Administrative duties. • Adherence to QSHE compliance and responsibilities. • Adherence to tasks not stipulated in job profile i.e. audit compliance, adhoc duties due to operational requirements. • Insure all team members comply with HSE standards. • Do daily/ weekly and monthly reports that needs to be send to DSV management and the client. • Identify and report discrepancies/irregular standards in a daily basis and root cause (Corrective Action report) analysis completed per deviation.
