We are guided by the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and are blazing a trail towards regenerative sustainability.The Project Manager is an exciting opportunity within the Sustainability office to lead in the sustainability space and work with us to progress our sustainability portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Manager - Sustainability Office, the Project Manager will lead our ongoing Air Travel Emissions Mitigation Initiative (ATEMI) which tracks and offsets emissions for business air travel by investing in university-based projects aimed at reducing a portion of the institution’s scope 3 carbon footprint.The Project Manager will manage the ATEMI program with a focus on identifying, developing and delivering projects to mitigate emissions resulting from university based air travel. The role will also involve leveraging colleagues across the university community to collectively achieve program goals.This is an exciting initiative which is part of the Sustainability Office's mission to embed sustainability in all we do across our campuses and beyond.Your responsibilities will include:Planning and implementing project phasesDeveloping charter, scope, resources and schedule for project(s)Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholdersConducting detailed analysis of specifications in preparation for project planningWriting routine documents and correspondenceDeveloping and/or measuring environmental/sustainability metrics and targetsMonitoring project accounts and reporting on estimated end-of-project costsEssential Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Environment, Sustainability or similar field, or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Six to seven years of experience related to project development and management.Self-starter - motivated and driven to deliver resultsStrong interpersonal and analytical skillsSustainability data/metrics: analysis, measurement, tracking and reporting experienceDemonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and databasesExcellent written and oral communication skillsSuperior organizational skills; ability to pay attention to detailAssets (Nonessential):Initiative and ability to exercise diplomacy, good judgment, tact, and discretionStrong interest in the environment and/or sustainabilityUpbeat and positive demeanorTo be successful in this role you will be:Motivated self-learnerResourcefulSelf-directedTactfulTeam playerThis position is for a one year (12 month) contract.
