Our mission is to serve as a centre of excellence for statistical and actuarial research and education, across the campus, nationally and internationally. Research is centered on excellence in theory and methods, as many faculty members in the department have very successful collaborative research programs. Central to our vision for the next five years is to strengthen our national and international reputation in collaborative scientific activity, without compromising our core strengths.Your responsibilities will include:Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries, and providing detailed information to studentson program and/or course requirements. Writing routine documents and correspondence.Receiving and passing on application documents for review. Verifying the accuracy and completeness of information. Coordinating the preparation and distribution of program and/or course material. Checking completeness of applications. Creating and updating student records. Generating reports.Checking course prerequisites prior to student enrolment.Coordinating examination timetables. Troubleshooting timetabling and/or room booking conflicts. Coordinating program schedules with stakeholders,Providing detailed information regarding financial awardsLiaising with internal and external contacts to coordinate execution of seminars and workshopsProviding detailed information to committee members on petition and/or appeal rules, guidelines and procedures. Taking and distributing meeting minutes.Maintaining information on a websiteEssential Qualifications:Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum two (2) years of recent and related experience in a post-secondary environment providing administrative support with undergraduate student services and program administration.Experience providing front line student services in an undergraduate office and detailed information on undergraduate programs of study and other related information.Experience with organizing the logistics of special events, workshops, seminars and other related outreach activities.Experience providing administrative support by navigating, entering, retrieving, viewing, and maintaining student and program information in ROSI, Degree Explorer, and other related student information systems.Experience and advanced skills in website and webpage editing.Demonstrated advanced level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.Solid working knowledge of ROSI, ROSI Express and Degree Explorer and/or other related student information system.Demonstrated proficiency in working with students providing information on different academic issues/programsExcellent problem-solving, coordination and administrative skills.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and faculty. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
