Your opportunity: Facilities&Services (F&S) is a portfolio comprised of teams with diverse day-to-day operations and skill sets. The individual leaders and employees within the portfolio are dedicated to collaborating to providing excellent service to all clients. The Sustainability and Energy Management arm of F&S is dedicated to driving sustainability through consistently improving our sustainability performance across many its many components. We are guided by the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and are blazing a trail towards regenerative sustainability. The Project Manager is an exciting opportunity within the Sustainability office to lead in the sustainability space and work with us to progress our sustainability portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Manager - Sustainability Office, the Project Manager will lead our ongoing Air Travel Emissions Mitigation Initiative (ATEMI) which tracks and offsets emissions for business air travel by investing in university-based projects aimed at reducing a portion of the institution’s scope 3 carbon footprint. The Project Manager will manage the ATEMI program with a focus on identifying, developing and delivering projects to mitigate emissions resulting from university based air travel. The role will also involve leveraging colleagues across the university community to collectively achieve program goals. This is an exciting initiative which is part of the Sustainability Office's mission to embed sustainability in all we do across our campuses and beyond. Your responsibilities will include: Planning and implementing project phases Developing charter, scope, resources and schedule for project(s) Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders Conducting detailed analysis of specifications in preparation for project planning Writing routine documents and correspondence Developing and/or measuring environmental/sustainability metrics and targets Monitoring project accounts and reporting on estimated end-of-project costs Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Environment, Sustainability or similar field, or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. Six to seven years of experience related to project development and management. Self-starter - motivated and driven to deliver results Strong interpersonal and analytical skills Sustainability data/metrics: analysis, measurement, tracking and reporting experience Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and databases Excellent written and oral communication skills Superior organizational skills; ability to pay attention to detail Assets (Nonessential): Initiative and ability to exercise diplomacy, good judgment, tact, and discretion Strong interest in the environment and/or sustainability Upbeat and positive demeanor To be successful in this role you will be: Motivated self-learner Resourceful Self-directed Tactful Team player This position is for a one year (12 month) contract.
