Your opportunity: The University College Advancement Office oversees all fundraising, donor relations, stewardshipand alumni relations activities at University College. As the Development Officer, you will be responsible for Annual Gift fundraising, including direct mail and email campaigns. You will also be identifying, cultivating and soliciting donors to consider a Leadership Gift to University College, and contributing to the College’s donor engagement and stewardship strategy that maintains the donor's involvement, interest and support. You will be an important member of a broader community of sophisticated fundraisers at the University of Toronto, where staff aspire to the highest standards of achievement and accountability for advancement professionals. Your responsibilities will include: Developing and managing a portfolio of donors and prospects by engaging in prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition. In collaboration with University Advancement, planning and delivering UC’s Annual&Leadership Giving Campaign. Developing and implementing donor engagement plans that support strategic objectives. Preparing donor acknowledgement and recognition communications along with writing briefing notes, solicitation plans and call reports to track donor interaction. Working in a supportive capacity with Senior Development Officer and Director, Advancement on more complex or larger gifts. Directing the work of volunteers in defined activities. Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a fundraisingor relationship management role with a demonstrated track record of success. Demonstrated prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition experience. Demonstrated experience drafting complex donor reports and communications. Experience working with senior volunteers, researchers or faculty members. Proven ability to motivate others, i.e. volunteers, team members, donors. Evidence of leadership and initiative, tact, diplomacy, attention to detail and, creativity. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in complex multi-stakeholder environmentssuch as education and healthcare, working with academics and physicians whose vision forchanging the world demands both excellence and resultsDemonstrated ability to operate effectively in complex multi-stakeholder environments such as education and healthcare, working with academics and physicians whose vision for changing the world demands both excellence and results. Highly developed computer skills working with MS Office; databases; and content management systems. Ability to work in a fast paced and results oriented environment.
