SurfaceCycle Careers Asphalt Mill Operator – UTCoughlin Company is looking for some Asphalt Mill Operators to join our team. As an Asphalt Mill Operator and be at the forefront of efficiently milling asphalt to meet project specifications, and contributing to our construction projects’ success.Operate milling equipment, such as Milling Machines or Cold Planers, to mill asphalt/concrete to specified requirements for each job.Control and manipulate hand levers to operate milling machines for asphalt, concrete, stone, or dirt surfaces on roadways, parking lots, streets, and highways.Assist in changing carbide teeth in the milling machine using traditional or pneumatic hammers when necessary.Perform preventive maintenance tasks on milling machinery, such as greasing and basic servicing.Climb onto and off the milling machine as required during operations.Ensure efficient working condition of equipment by performing minor servicing and maintenance tasks, or reporting major issues to the supervisor.Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicle, tools, and equipment, and promptly report any safety concerns to management.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExperience operating milling equipment required.Ability to manipulate hand levers and control movements of machinery.Must have the ability to travel for overnight work for extended periods.Physical capability to climb onto and off the milling machine as needed.Basic understanding of machinery maintenance procedures.Strong attention to safety protocols and procedures.Working Conditions and Physical Demands Exposure to various weather conditions.Physical tasks include lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and working in tight spaces.Tolerance to noise levels and potential exposure to contaminants.Must wear personal protective equipment as required.Must have the ability to travel for overnight work for extended periods.**Note:** Summary is not all inclusive and additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor as needed.
