Sc/B-Tech in Electronic Engineering, or similar qualification.Minimum 5 years of proven experience in the relevant field – both hardware and software.Experience in the Power electronics or Electricity/Metering environment will be a great advantage.Expert in software development/programming in VB and C# (Visual Studio), HTML5, aspx, JavaScript, API functionality, Arduino, SQL.Expert knowledge in and experience with PCB and circuit Layouts, Design and component selection is a must. I.e. experience in formal design, development and embedded software programming of electronic boards and microchips. Experience in ESP boards will be advantageous. A portfolio would be an advantage.Knowledge of IOT, LoRa, Sigfox and other communication networks; with communication used in domestic and industrial automation/automated meter reading.Basic knowledge of networks (LAN & WAN), Microsoft Servers and PCs.A driver’s license and your own reliable transport.What type of person you need to be:You need to be passionate about the field of work.You must be able to work in a team and also alone, i.e. unsupervised.You need to be creative and innovative.You need to have great interpersonal skills.You must be able to work under high pressure, able to meet deadlines and be flexible regarding work hours to a degree.You’ll need excellent analysis skills and be able to apply vertical and lateral logic.It would be advantageous if you are knowledgeable about new technologies relevant to the field.You should be familiar with the “Best of Breed” concept.What you’ll be doing:Research and development of PCBs and other hardware for communication with smart meters.Integrate PCBs with and programming of software/information systems.Do remote debugging/problem solving with technicians in the field.Maintain and manage information systems, servers, and databases from time to time.Troubleshoot and user support of information systems from time to time.The post Jnr Electronic/Software Engineer appeared first on freerecruit.co.za.
