Fitter and Turner (R&D Testing Artisan) – Cape Town. Are you a Fitter and Turner (with Red Seal) with experience attending to machine breakdowns and ensuring that there are sufficient stock levels for the parts required. Our client is in the Engineering Industry, manufacturing for the Agricultural Industry and in this role you will be attending to breakdowns on machines, ensuring adequate stock levels for R&D projects, and follow preventative maintenance measures on equipment used in the manufacturing process. Minimum Requirements: Matric Qualified Fitting and Turning Trade Test Certificate 2-5 Years after trade experience Duties and Responsibilities: Breakdowns Responsible to attend all breakdowns on machines CU Welding stations, assembly tables, press stations etc., R&D Testing Circuit, Chain Fatigue Tester etc. Zinc Plating: Greasing station, acid pickle station etc. Monitor, report and amend all stock and non-stock item levels in the Stores and Maintenance department pertaining to critical spare parts Report to Maintenance and Production on progress of repairs and diagnosis of faults Report on duration of downtime on maintenance job cards Responsible for tracking and upkeep of all service history information Projects Frequent feedback to Design department relating to improvements and issues on all relevant production lines Ensure all necessary tools and equipment are available and in working condition Responsible to report any deviations to original as-built drawings etc Liaise with Projects Engineer on commissioning of all new responsible machinery and components Reporting Stock levels of critical spare components Machine throughput Report Project lead time on new developments All Maintenance checklists General Responsible for all relevant housekeeping on workstations and maintenance production lines Preventative Maintenance on all Chain CU Jigs, R&D Testing and Zinc Plating Utilize breakdown service and inspection data to motivate improvements on production lines Report and investigate on unforeseen limitations/stoppages during planned services.
