Elevate not only Cape Town as the most popular tourist destination globally, but also align with our societal commitment to pioneering tourism and enriching lives.What’s In It for You:Brand New Role: Step into a newly created position where the sky is the limit pioneering strategic growth personally and within a reputable organisation.Competitive Compensation and Prosperity: Enjoy a lucrative salary paired with performance-based incentives.Iconic Brand: Join a team dedicated to promoting an award-winning, world-class tourist destination.Hybrid Work: Benefit from the flexibility of WFH whilst still nurturing your valued team connections.Key Responsibilities:Develop Innovative Strategies: Conceptualise, build, and lead business cases for new commercial models, products, and services aligned with market dynamics and Cape Town Tourism's strategic objectives.Convert New Business: Leverage strong negotiation skills to influence and close deals, securing new revenue streams and partnerships.Optimise Operations: Re-evaluate and convert our current commercial models to maximise financial impact.Conduct Market Research: Perform high-level industry research and market analysis to drive effective sales solutions.Partner Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partner relationships to sustain and grow revenue.Training and Development: Train and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance.Ensure Legal Compliance: Review sales contracts to ensure they meet legal and corporate guidelines.Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilise data and performance metrics to inform strategic business decisions.Implement Growth Opportunities: Prepare business plans to demonstrate sales trajectory and forecasted ROI.Cross-functional Collaboration: Leverage and partner with our expert Destination Marketing, Destination Management and Support Services teams to create winning proposals.Achieve Revenue Targets: Work towards growing total revenue from R60m (2023/24) to R100m over the next three to five years.Who Are We Looking For?You are a confident go-getter who embodies our core values of agility, integrity and courageous forward thinking equipped with the following:Proven Experience: At least 6 – 8 years of experience in commercial strategy development and revenue growth, with demonstrated success in developing and implementing business cases.eCommerce and B2B Sales Expertise: Success in working in B2B sales demonstrating your ability to forge lasting partnerships and sales.Tourism Industry Experience: Experience in tourism, hospitality, or related industries is highly preferred.Strategic Acumen: Knowledge of project management methodologies, backed by MS Office and industry-specific analysis software.Understanding of Destination and Market Trends: In-depth knowledge of the macroeconomic climate and market trends that may affect the tourism trade, specifically in Cape Town, will strengthen your application.Leadership and Management Skills: Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.Collaborative team player and effective leader and communicator who inspires action and works well with cross-functional teams.Seize the opportunity to lead, explore freely, and drive success for both you and Cape Town Tourism.
