Primary Focus:The primary focus of this role is to take responsibility for the finance function, which involves the collection, processing, recording, reconciliation and reporting of financial data, verifying the validity, completeness and accuracy of source documentation. Maintains complete and proper records of revenue, expenditure, assets, and liabilities, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information.Responsibilities:Accurately record all cash receipts and payments in the cashbookPrepare and reconcile bank statementsMonitor and reconcile discrepancies in cash transactionsRecord all supplier and rent invoicesRaise Wholesale customer invoicesBalance sheet (including key supplier account) reconciliationsMonth-end journals and reportingCompiling month-end management packsAnalyse GL accountsPreparation of monthly VAT returnsPrepare, review, submit and liaise with auditors for annual auditPerforming financial calculations, particularly relating to inventoryAssist with annual budgets and quarterly forecastingAssist in the preparation of financial reports and statementsFollow company procedures and maintain confidentiality of financial informationAdhere to relevant laws, regulations and best practicesAssist Senior Accountant and CFO where neededRequirements:BCom Accounting, Diploma in Finance/ Accounting or similar qualificationAt least 3 years post articlesCompleted articles SAIPA or SAICA are highly advantageousExperience in retail industry will be beneficialWorking knowledge on accounting software such as Pastel, Sage, Xero or the likeStrong understanding of basic accounting principles and proceduresProficient in using accounting software and ExcelExcellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong organisational and time management skillsAbility to work independentlyMeticulous attention to detail is highly importantAbility to work under pressure, working to tight deadlinesPlease note if you have not heard from us in 2 weeks from application, please consider yourself unsuccessful - please do continue to follow us online and apply for suitable roles.#J-18808-Ljbffr
