Well established national company are looking for an experienced applicant to join their team. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of the company's fleet and plant equipment, ensuring efficient operations and cost-effective solutions. RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and implement fleet management strategies and policies to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.Develop and maintain a budget for fleet operations including forecasting and tracking expenses.Manage a team of fleet supervisors and administrative staff to ensure smooth and timely execution of fleet maintenance and repairs.Oversee driver recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.Monitor and analyse fleet performance, including vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.Oversee the acquisition and disposal of fleet vehicles, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.Negotiate and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of fleet vehicles and parts.Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and serviced according to manufacturer guidelines and best practice.Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and maximize the lifespan of fleet vehicles.Conduct regular audits and inspections of fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.Provide regular reports to management on fleet performance, budget, and any issues or concerns.Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards in the management of the fleet.Stay informed about industry trends and developments to make informed decisions for the fleet.Manage/book all plant, vehicle, and equipment, movement etc.Calculate operator hours/plant allocations/project allocations, and supply costings to the finance team.
